The Dream Box

A Novel by Glen Vecchione

The Dream Box - A Novel by Glen Vecchione

Forbidden to have children by a fascist technocracy and confined to their dome in a world of noxious ice, bio-enhanced creatures Omoo and Amaa resign themselves to a life of obeisance and small comforts. But in the wild grasslands beyond the safety of their colony, a savage Enonyi watches the couple's comings and goings – watches Amaa bathe in her allotted portion of precious "purewater" – and plans its attack. The terrible consequences that follow, including the threat of eternity in a virtual afterlife known as the Dream Box, make the couple fugitives. But their journey reveals a frightening surprise about a world they thought they knew, a world they believe they can now save.
